Vegetables Served With TLC
Tender Loving Cuisine, the delicious Meals-on-Wheels alternative, is big on fresh vegetables.
Recognising Australia's love for and need of vegetables, Tender Loving Cuisine (TLC) prides itself on delivering fresh vegetables to its elderly and disabled customers each week.
"All our main dinners include vegetables," Chief Executive Officer Jack Barker said yesterday.
"We use only fresh vegetables purchased straight from the markets, which are cooked in a new combination steam cooker.
All cooked products are immediately chilled to prevent bacteria build-up, then plated and sealed.
The dinners are finally 'blast frozen' to preserve the natural texture and ensure that they taste just like mum's freshly prepared dinners."
According to the latest Sensis?Consumer Report, Australians are eating more vegetables.
Report author Christina Singh said: "Vegetables are the favourite food for Australians, nominated by 11 per cent of those surveyed. While we didn't expect vegetables to rank number one, this healthy choice is encouraging to see," she said.
Heart Foundation research also promotes the natural benefits of vegetables for the elderly to maintain a balanced diet.
A diet rich in vegetables has other benefits. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has found that a high intake of fruits and vegetables may also help maintain quality of living for the elderly.
The findings are all good news for clients of Tender Loving Cuisine.
Instead of resorting to unhealthy take-away food or tinned and frozen meals that can be lacking in taste and nutrition, TLC clients are finding they can get mouth watering dishes delivered straight to their door.
Tender Loving Cuisine specialises in home delivered, calorie controlled meal plans and special dietary packages.
And as TLC operates to a quality standard and not a price constraint, the highest quality ingredients are used to prepare all the meals.
Meals are submitted for independent laboratory testing to obtain the Heart Foundation Tick of Approval so you can be sure that they not only taste great, but they are also good for you.
There are no contracts so clients can use the service for just a week or longer. And if you are not happy with the service, TLC will gladly refund your money in full on first orders up to fourteen dinners.
Clients can choose from regular (340g to 380g) or large (400g to 440g) dinners and the minimum order is seven dinners; the more you buy, the cheaper it gets. All you need to do is heat and eat. And as there are no contracts, you can use the service for just a week or as long as you wish. TLC couriers are mindful of restrictions on the elderly and disabled and will even place your order in your freezer for you.
The meals all include heating instructions and serving suggestions and have been prepared so you can heat and serve in around six minutes using a microwave or 30 minutes with a conventional oven.
TLC's gourmet menu includes meat, poultry and seafood meals plus home style soups and desserts. Examples include Corned Silverside with White Sauce, Beef Lasagne with Shredded Cheese, Steak and Kidney Pie, Roast Pork and Apple Sauce, Indian Style Lamb Curry, Apricot Chicken, Roast Turkey with Cranberry Sauce and Baked Ocean Fish Fillet.
